HOT SHOP: The Literary Gift Company

September 9, 2010

Bookish? Like typewriters? Wordy? Me too.

The Literary Gift Company is a fabulous mail-order company selling everything and anything book-related. There are tea towels and bags, mugs and badges…there’s jewellery, stationery – it’s a treasure trove and no mistake. A great place to buy gifts for others or, cough, for oneself. I love the Mills and Boon paper confetti (the hearts above) which you could throw at a literary wedding or sprinkle on your table for a dinner party – what a conversation-starter.

After yesterday’s post about tape, I’ve got a bit of a thing for the Virginia Woolf tape above – it’s £3.99 for 60m, and there’s also some tasty alphabet tape. Have a peep. – Ellie

Oh dear. It appears I need absolutely bloody everything on that site.

Oh my word! (Excuse the pun). There is nothing on there that I don’t need. I need a Cinderella make up back and a badge in the shape of a typewriter.

Perfume that smells like paperback books? Yes, yes and yes!

  3. Julie Says:

*bag not back. I got a bit too excited.

God I love this retro looking English Literature style of design. I made have to build myself a website just to design with this style. Hmm what would I sell though? Books is a bit obvious and pointless lol.

I’ve tried to get my blinds manufacturers to print this style of fabrics before but it’s apparently a bit too niche. I would love to have something like this on a blind hanging in my kitchen with some reveering statement on it that made me happy everytime I saw it!

Ideas for a site on a postcard please 🙂

  5. Love it love it love it all I want that typewriter it’s gorgeous

And another rabbit!! And what a fab idea the Mills and Boon confetti is – who thinks these things up, it’s genius!

Wow, love this! It feeds my inner geek.

Just found your blog via Ideal Home Magazine and it’s fantastic, thank you.

Can I ask you/other blog-savvy readers a question? I’d love to start my own interior design blog but how do you go about getting photos of the products you feature, like those above? Is it okay to lift it from the seller’s website so long as you link back to them, or do you always have to ask permission first? I just wonder how you ever get anything done if you have to wait for a reply every time?

Any advice much appreciated! Sorry for hijacking this comment thread!
