I know, I know, we’re spoiling you today. It took a lot of persuasion, a few bribes here and there and perhaps a little bit of cheek, but we have it. Le scoop: Lisa Stickley‘s new bed linen designs for Heals (launching on 8th December). Regardez:

HURRAH for Lisa who, despite a punishing schedule churning out Debenhams designs, craft books and beautiful handbags, still manages to come up with such a fresh, pretty collection. I particularly love the trees design (which would look oh-so-cute in a kids’ room with the new Harlequin Boutique trees wallpaper but that’s by the by…) and also the orange set below, which is called Tangerine Hankie Flower:

As the youngsters round my way say, this is bare good, innit. – Ellie

NEW: Orla Kiely radio

October 13, 2010

Last night, we popped along to the launch of a new radio. But this was no ordinary radio. It was an Orla Kiely radio.

Cath Kidston did it with Roberts. Now Orla’s done it with Pure. Covered in her signature stem print, with a sleek wooden case and a beautiful, shiny chrome handle, it looked fabulous perched on the retro sideboard in Orla’s shop. But it would look good pretty much anywhere. Especially if you surround it with Orla’s colourful notebooks and position it in front of a dark grey wall. As seen above. Sigh. It’s available from Orla Kiely now and will be in John Lewis from November onwards. – Ellie

Plumo worship

August 25, 2010

It’s raining. It’s chilly. The leaves are falling. I’ve been in denial, but let’s face it: summer is well and truly over in the UK. It’s not all bad news, though. The new autumn/winter collections are popping up online left, right and centre. Today, the new Plumo range went live…and it’s an absolute stonker:

I love the cheeky little owl pot holders and I’m lusting after that Danish bedside table, too!

Whoever had the GENIUS idea of putting a giant reel of butcher’s twine inside a glass cloche bell jar deserves a Trend Merging Medal. They’ve basically combined two of my favourite things to create something so completely unnecessary but absolutely gorgeous at the same time – and for reasons I can’t quite fathom, I LOVE it! – Ellie

We’ve had a manic day of Christmas press shows, so I’m feeling tired but – very inspired! We had so much fun and saw loads of lovely new designs and ideas for our Christmas issue, which we’re starting to write now. I particularly liked these pretty new heart-shaped plates from The White Company – so gorgeous! I’ll have some more Christmas gossip tomorrow, so pop in. – Ellie

HOT SHOP: Camp Cirrus

June 8, 2010

New Swedish shop, Camp Cirrus, has launched a collection of fab graphic print accessories – think Anorak meets Marimekko

I particularly like the house design – cute on a tray. And, of course, I’ve fallen in love with the little vintage coral rabbit cup in the styled shot above – ‘stylist’s own’ – that old chestnut. – Ellie

I’ve just got back from Portugal, where Philips presented their latest collection of gadgets and appliances to the worldwide media…

Every year, Philips take over the Penhalonga golf resort, for 3 months at a time, kitting the rooms out with latest Philips products – TV, daylight alarm clock, music systems – and displaying their products in marquees around the golf resort, so us journalists can get to know their products in depth, see them in action and spread the word…

The hotel, which dates back to the 14th century, is a gorgeous contrast to the latest high-tech offerings from Philips…These include:

NET TV – launching this spring it’s a new feature on Philips‘ latest TV designs (such as the S8000 and S9000 series) that lets you access a range of entertainment and information websites, such as YouTube, TomTom, eBay, MeteoGroup, Funspot, MyAlbum and Netlog, direct from your TV.

Also worth mentioning is the wide range of music streaming products that Philips has launched, such as the MC15ooH (pictured below), which lets you play music wirelessly in every room of the house.  With a ‘station’ in every room you can access your digital files on your PC or listen to internet radio or music services such as Last.fm. You can synchronize the music so the same tunes are played in every room, or for example, each family member can listen to a tune in their own room – so you can have Beyonce blairing out in the kitchen, Fleet Foxes in the study and a bit of relaxing chillout music in the bedroom.

And if you’re looking for birthday ideas for him, then check out the new straightener for men (!)

Yep, you heard it right – it’s smaller than your average straightener so gives ‘precision styling’ and, it seems, a bit of a ‘new romantic’ edge…whatever floats your boat – Emily
