IKEA’s Shakespearean BILLY bookcase!

To Billy or not to Billy – 41 million people since 1979 have chosen IKEA‘s most famous bookcase for their homes, and the reliable Billy design is 30 years old this year. To mark this historic occasion, IKEA is releasing, rather randomly, some limited-edition Billy ‘Jader’ bookcases, covered in quotations from the works of William Shakespeare, graffiti-style.
These designer-style shelving units will cost £39 each. Or, you could just let your kids get creative on your Billy shelves with a permanent marker for a similar effect! – Ellie

some things just never go out of style! i love ikea for certain things. i’m currently in the market for fresh summer-y curtains that i’ve seen posted on a few blogs…from none other than our friend ikea! 🙂 thanks for the inspiration & happy weekend.

Have been trying to find out where to order the Billy Jader Bookcase from Ikea, but not having much success, living on the Isle of Wight if anyone can help me out guiding me to where to buy it online would be very much appreciated.

I just picked up my Billy Jader bookcase and I was so excited. Then as I was putting it together I noticed that three of the quotes are false attributions and not by William Shakespeare at all. I am extremely disappointed. Didn’t anyone bother to check??

Did you take your Jader bookshelf back? We bought and black and white one and really want another one but Ikea seem to have sold out. If you still have it and want to sell it let me know.

I went to Ikea to get a new bookshelf yesterday. I wanted one of these particular ones as I had one before but ex-boyfriend got to keep it when I moved out. Unfortunatly, they were limited edition and are now sold out [at least in Dublin Store] and I had to go with a plain black one. I was very upset because I really loved that bookshelf and it was funky as well as functional… oh well..

I have ‘billied’for years in uk and now I live in Scandinavia Ikea seems even more a normal part of my life. Only downside is that in UK there are more helpful handymen to put your Ikea together than here in Finland 😦
